Your Life Sucks. What Now?

Think your life sucks? You’re probably right.

You're in a bad place and you can’t do anything to fix it.

Your life has spiralled out of control and there seems to be no way out.

It’s easy to say “here’s how to fix your life”, but actually doing it isn’t so simple.

Lasting change takes desire, commitment, determination, time, and work.

Feeling like your life sucks is a sign it’s you need to make some changes.

You have a choice: You can stay where you are, or you can use your circumstances as a launchpad to redesign your life

However badly your life sucks, rest assured you’re not alone. There are people out there now going through the same things as you, a lot of them much worse off.

Also, keep in mind that numerous people have been right where you are now and have managed to pick themselves up and build a great life.

Never give up. Never surrender. There’s always an answer to your problems, even if you can’t see it right now.

Understanding and applying these strategies to your own circumstances will give you momentum for a positive change.

Your life won’t suck anymore, and things will be better than ever before.

Life Sucks Why Is It So Hard

Why Is Your Life So Difficult?

For every effect, there’s a cause. Where you are today is a culmination of your thoughts, decisions, and actions from the past.

These are some of the main reasons why your life is so hard today;

1. Poor Decisions

The choices you’ve made in the past got you to where you are today.

If you made poor choices in the past and didn’t learn from them, you’re likely to repeat them.

Making a series of poor decisions over a prolonged period can get your life into a rut that’s hard to get out of.

Don’t lose hope though. You can use your past to your advantage if you can learn from it and use your dissatisfaction to propel you forward.

2. Giving up Too Soon

Nothing worthwhile comes easy. The best opportunities are buried within a challenge and lay just outside your comfort zone.

Everyone can look back at their life and find times where if they just stuck with it and didn’t give up so soon, they’d be a lot further than where they are today.

It could be a relationship, a business, a hobby, a goal, or anything else.

When you give up on things too easily you make life difficult for yourself because you continually have to start again.

3. No Life Purpose

When you have a clearly defined purpose that you're willing to make sacrifices for you’ll have the internal strength to keep pushing forward when life decides to test you.

4. You Keep Yourself Stuck

Life’s about growth and progress. If you’re not growing, you’re dying.

You keep yourself stuck by your habitual thoughts and habits. If they’re not working for you, and you keep doing them, your life will always suck.

5. You're Living in the Past

Everyone has regrets about their past. But if you let your past experiences define who you are today you’re going to have a problem.

You’re not the person you were back then. You can’t let past mistakes determine your future.

Stop identifying with who you used to be. You're a new person now.

How Can I Fix My Life?

The first step to any change is to acknowledge where you are. There’s a structure to success. Here's a process you can use to start transforming your life;

1. Do Something Different

If you keep doing the same things you’ll keep getting the same results. Sounds straight forward right?

When you start doing better you start to get better outcomes.

When you identify what’s making your life suck you can discard them and replace them.

2. Set New Goals

You need a roadmap to follow. Having goals and intentions gives you something to aim for and provides structure to your life.

If you feel your life is broken, and you want to fix it, the most powerful thing you can do is decide what you want to be, do and have and then set an intention to make it all happen.

3. Clean Up Your Life

Cleaning up your life means renouncing everything that no longer works for you. People, habits, environments, addictions, vices. You name it.

You know the parts of your life that are keeping you from success.

You should have nothing in your life that isn’t complimentary to achieving your goals and intentions.

Get rid of everything negative or toxic from within yourself, and your life.

Doing this can change your life in a very short amount of time.

4. Do That One Thing

You know that one thing you’ve always thought about doing but haven’t? Now is the time.

The human mind needs to be engaged in a worthwhile activity for you to feel fulfilled.

The more action you take on something important to you, the better you’ll feel when you start making progress.

5. Start Small and Grow

You don’t have to fix your life in one giant step. Start small. One phone call, one conversation, one small change.

When your life sucks and you want to fix it, obviously what you’ve been doing so far isn’t working for you.

You need to start doing new things. Don’t overwhelm yourself. Start small and scale.

6 Reasons Why People Suck at Life

1. They're Rude and Selfish

If you have a blatant disregard for everything except yourself you’re going to suck at life.

Sure you need to have thick skin and not be concerned with what other people think about you, BUT, there’s a difference between that and being an obnoxious douche nobody wants to be around.

2. Ignorance

Nobody likes being around a cynic. They’re draining and boring.

Refusing to take on ideas and perspectives that are different from your own shows ignorance and small-mindedness.

Both impede your personal growth and development. Not only will your life suck, but your personality will suck as well.

3. Negative Energy

Pessimism and negativity, like ignorance and cynicism, are characteristics that repel quality people away from you.

Success avoids negativity. If you’re always negative you’ll never try anything new because you’ve already decided 10 ways it won’t work before you even begin.

Overly pessimistic and negative people suck to be around.

4. They Derive Self Worth From Possessions

It’s great to desire a successful career or business and to have a good quality of life. But even once you have them they can easily be taken away.

Defining yourself by these things is telling yourself you’re not good enough without them, you're not valuable and worthy if you don't ‘have stuff’.

If you do define yourself externally, what if you no longer have what you define yourself by? Who are you then?

5. They're Self-Entitled

If you think the world owes you something just for being you, you suck.

Media promotes instant gratification. Getting rich overnight, instant abs, and success without effort are delusional ideas that destroy any chance you have of attaining true success.

No one owes you anything. You’re no more special or deserving than anyone else. If you want something, work for it until you deserve to have it.

6. They're Too Serious

One of the most powerful characteristics anyone could have is a sense of humor and the ability to laugh at themselves.

People are so stressed and tense they give themselves heart attacks and depression when they can’t deal with it anymore.

People are way too sensitive and focus on things that don't matter.

Giving too much importance to any one thing is setting yourself up for a downfall.

Look for the funny side of things, don’t be a high strung stress head. Be a relaxed and confident high-value human being with a smile.

If Your Life Sucks Here's What to Do...

1. Have a Plan

Make a plan to get where you want to go. Think about how you want your life to be and what it will look like when you’re there.

Map it out starting from what you’ll do first, today. You don't have to know every detail, this is about mapping out a blueprint and having a plan to follow. You can change it as you progress if you need to.

2. Identify Your Self Imposed Limitations

Identify your weak points. What areas do you need to be aware of that could keep you stuck in a crappy situation?

Are you tempted to have a few too many drinks, get involved with people you know aren’t good for you, or revert to laziness and procrastination instead of doing what you know you should?

Do you become hostage to your short term emotions?

Be aware of your self imposed limitations.

When you notice yourself repeating the unwanted behaviours you have a moment to choose something else.

3. Stop Blaming

Blaming anyone but yourself for where you are in life is a waste of time and energy.

Yes, people have done you wrong. Maybe they hurt you in ways you didn’t deserve. That sucks.

But now it’s your responsibility to get out of your rut and make something of yourself. Stop blaming and start doing.

4. Be Willing to Cut Your Losses

Don’t hold onto things that weigh you down. If you have people in your life that you know aren’t good for you, cut them out of your life.

Get rid of them. This goes for your habits and actions as well.

If your life sucks and you feel like a loser you need to stop doing what's causing you to lose.

Then you can focus single-mindedly on being your best self and living your best life.

5. Focus on What's in Front of You

Don’t distract yourself with anything other than what’s right in front of you.

What are your intentions and what type of life do you want to live? Ignore anything that isn’t related to that.

Don’t dwell on your past. If your life sucks already you don't need to keep yourself there by concentrating on it.

Put your mind on what you want and what you need to be doing.

Don’t stray from your intention, you have to stay focused.

6. Deflect Negativity

Negativity will sink your boat like an iceberg did the titanic. Avoid all forms of negativity.

Stay away from people and environments that promote negativity or lack.

Recognise it when it enters your mind.

Stay away from negativity and be around positivity, optimism, and abundance.

7. Build Better Habits

Excellence and success are a result of your daily habits. Establish daily routines that support you in who you want to be and the life you want to live.

Rise early, eat well, exercise, work on your goals. Be productive and proactive. Once your mind accepts this as your daily routine you won’t even have to think about it anymore.

8. Be Your Best Self

You know you're more than you are right now, and you know there’s more to life than being stuck where you are.

Maybe all you need is to change a few thoughts and behaviours and you’ll be heading in a new direction.

You might have to make more changes to the way you live your life. Whatever you need to do, commit.

Decide who you want to be and focus 100% on becoming that person. The only barriers are in your mind.

9. Be More Productive

If you’re sitting around thinking your life sucks then you’ve got too much time on your hands.

You know where you'd rather so get off your ass and get to work.

If you say you want something better but you're not willing to work for it, do you really want it or are you just lying to yourself?

10. Appreciate What You Have

However much you might think your life sucks there’s always something you can be grateful for. Always.

Try not to focus so much on what’s not working and appreciate what is.

You’re still here, reading this post and making an effort to improve.

That puts you ahead of 90% of people who accept defeat and allow their life to suck.

You’re different because you're doing something about it.

Don't look for complicated or esoteric answers to your problems. The best solutions are usually the most simple.

The answers you need are right in front of you when you look in the mirror.
