6 Simple Ways How to Live Your Best Life
Your Best Life Starts Now
Let's talk about living your best life.
Life doesn't go on forever.
A time will come when you're no longer here, so why not make it a masterpiece instead of a tragedy?
Everyone experiences hardship in one way or another.
Some things you can't control.
Living your best life means focusing on what you can control to maximise pleasure and minimise pain.
You have a choice.
Let your fear and circustance control you, or make the decision to live your best life.
I've put together six key strategies for taking your life to another level.
You might be in great place now. But there's always more.
When you apply these steps your perspective will change.
You'll start thinking differently about yourself and the world around you.
The most successful people I know live these steps everyday.
Making the decision to live your best life is the most important step.
Once you decide it's about repeating the new behaviours until they become your habits.
Let's dive in...
Step 1: Make Peace With Your Past
Carrying negative baggage from your past will destroy you.
Negative baggage is memories and experiences that have caused you some type of pain.
Past regret and personal pain prohibit you from being your best self, so you need to release them.
Pain is a good teacher. Keep what you learnt.
But reliving painful memories over and over is like torturing yourself.
You can't move forward until you leave regrets and pain from your past behind you.
Living your best life means accepting your past and focusing on the present and the future.
You can't change what happened but you can change the meaning you give to it.
Find an empowering meaning. Use it to make yourself better.
What does your best life look like?
What thoughts or behaviours have kept you from having that life?
Start phasing them out.
Replace them with new characteristics and qualities.
Here's a few ways to make peace with your past.
Write About it
Some people write. They put all their thoughts and emotions related to the memory on paper.
As they write they gain new insights and learnings.
When they're done they burn the papers as a symbolic gesture that the weight of their past has been released.
Talk About it
Some people prefer to talk about it.
By talking about the past they can see it from a new perspective, and derive new meaning from the experience.
Make the Decision
Then there's people who decide that enough is enough.
They've been carrying the weight of their past for years.
They can see that their past is negatively impacting their present and in turn their future.
They're fed up. They demand more from themselves and they want more out of life.
Choose whichever method works best for you.
Don't procrastinate. Decide and begin.
Step 2: Be Definite About What You Want
You'll never get what you want if you don't know what it is.
You need clarity of intent, a proactive mindset, and a willingness to take action.
Narrow your focus. What do you want and who do you want to be?
Write down one or two areas that you want to excel in.
Put your energy and focus into attaining mastery.
Where are you now compared to where you want to be?
Who do you need to be to have your desired result?
Clarity is power.
Decide what you want and start moving in that direction.
Step 3: Seek Out and Enjoy New Experiences
Amazing life changing experiences are waiting for you.
They won't come to you. You have to go and find them.
At the end of your life all you'll have is your memories.
It makes sense to create beautiful rich memories now that you can carry with you throughout your life.
Seek out new and exciting experiences that the old you wouldn't have done.
Make your life an adventure.
Step 4: Start Living as Your Best Self
Be a force for good. Radiate positive energy.
Don't settle for mediocrity.
Be your best self.
What makes you happy? What do you feel an innate desire to do?
Being your best self means knowing what you want and living in line with your highest values.
You can tell when a person is their best self.
There's a spring in their step. A certain look in their eyes.
You can feel their energy when you're around them.
When you live as you best self your mind is open and alive. Things flow more and fall into place.
You don't have to push to get outcomes.
You have an intention and effortlessly take the right actions to move yourself closer to it's realisation.
Be your best and the world around you starts to change for the better.
Step 5: Spend Time in Nature
Take the time to be alone in nature.
Nature is a great place to sit, reflect, and reset.
You gain insights and solution to problems you wouldn't think of in your everyday environment.
There's something about the sound of waves, birds singing, and the wind through the trees that causes you to rebalance yourself.
When you feel the pressures of daily life take a time out and sit on the beach.
Go to a park. Walk in a rain forrest.
Schedule regular time to do this.
Living your best life is a result of being your best self.
That comes from being in the right state of mind.
Clear, calm, and resolute.
Spending time in nature will get you there.
Step 6: Build Real Relationships
Humans are social creatures. We need interaction and connection with other people.
Life is a system of interconnected relationships.
Think about the people who are most important to you.
What types of relationships you share with them?
Meaningful relationships add depth to your life.
Regardless of the degree of your success, if you're lonely and isolated you won't be happy.
Share your best life with the people you love the most.
Enrich their lives by being your best self.
Now it's your turn....
Choose one action you can take in each of the six steps and implement it within 24 hours.
Here's a recap;
- Make peace with yourself
- Decide what you want
- Seek out new experiences
- Be your best self
- Spend time in nature
- Build meaningful relationships
