To be your best self you need to know what you want and then develop habits that support you in moving towards it.

I've put together a list of ideas that you can use to live your best life.

Do you dread getting out of bed or do you wake up motivated?

1. Wake Up Earlier

Did you know that most successful people wake up early?

They have clear objectives and they value their time.

If you don't have something meaningful to get you out of bed early then you need to rethink your life.

It's time to make some new goals.

Laziness is unacceptable. 

When you rise early and get moving your productivity shoots through the roof.

John D Rockefeller used to say “rise early, work hard, strike gold”.

He should know. Being born into abject poverty he went on to become the wealthiest man on earth.

Waking up early reinforces the mindset of purpose and productivity.

2. Have a Morning Ritual

Start your day with a ritual that empowers you and gets you focused.

Review your goals or write your thoughts. 

Read something that stimulates your mind. 

Practice meditation or visualisation. 

Do these BEFORE you look at your phone. 

If you have to check your phone before you even get out of bed you’re not in control of your life. 

You are being controlled by it.

Morning rituals don't have to be complicated. Set aside 15-20 minutes.

During your morning ritual be totally immersed in yourself.



3. Eat a Good Breakfast

A good breakfast satisfies the nutritional needs of your body.

It's hard to stay focused and productive when you're hungry. 

Eating good food regularly has miraculous effects.

A clear mind, more energy, better skin. 

Don't stuff yourself with so much food you can't move.

Eat until you're not hungry, then stop.

Overeating leads to lethargy and laziness.

Avoid toxic people. They drag you down and distract you from what's important. 

Most have drama and problems they're more than happy to share with you. 

They won't hesitate to infect you with toxic negativity. 

Even if it's not their intention the result will be the same.

Negative people blame everything outside of themselves for their problems. 

They can't see (or don't want to see) that they are the problem.

Seek out optimistic and successful people. 

Who you spend your time with is who you will become.

Never Stop Challenging Yourself


Life get's chaotic. Embrace the chaos. Don't fight it.

See your problems as an opportunity to grow.

Alan Watts says when you release control you gain it.

You can use goals as a way to challenge yourself. 

Even small challenges make your day more exciting.

Hit a few extra reps in the gym, Increase your productivity at work, Eat better today than you did yesterday. 

Laugh and play with your kids more than you normally would. 

Living life as your best self is the ultimate challenge.

Commit yourself to the challenge. 


Plan Your Day in Advance


Pre planning your day gives you a clear blueprint to follow. 

You don't have to think about it, you just follow your plan.

Revise your plan in the morning to give your brain a target to aim for.

Align your day with your top goals.

If your daily actions aren’t correlated with your top three goals why are you doing them?

There's always mundane tasks we have to do like grocery shopping and paying bills. 

Get them done quickly then invest your time into your purpose and your goals.
