It's Time for Action!
What is a perfect moment?
It could be being in the right place at the right time when something important comes to fruition.
In a perfect moment, all the stars align.
Something you’ve been waiting for, or working for comes almost effortlessly into your possession.
There are as many definitions of a “perfect moment” as there are people in the world.
What you consider a perfect moment will be unique to you.
It depends on your goals, values, beliefs, and your habitual thoughts and actions.
Don't Wait for Opportunity-Create It
There’s a misperception in self-help / law of attraction circles.
It says that all you need to do to get what you want is to think about it, and then wait for it to come.
If all you do is think about what you want your chances of getting it are close to zero.
Don’t wait for an opportunity to come.
When you know what you want, don’t wait or hesitate, go out and get it.
How Do You Create Opportunities for Yourself?
1. Know What You Want
If you don’t know what you want you won't recognize the opportunity when it comes.
By knowing what you want, clearly and definitively, you create your own opportunity.
Your mind deletes everything not relevant to the goal and focuses on what is.
Your opportunities become clearer to recognize and you find it easier to take action.
When you know what you want opportunities start to appear around you.
2. Make a Plan to Get it
You can have all the best intentions in the world but if you don’t have a workable plan to turn them into the reality you won’t get very far.
When you have your outcome in mind, sit down alone and uninterrupted and map out a plan for how you intend to get what you want.
3. Know What Resources You Need
You don’t create a result out of thin air.
Whatever you want to accomplish, you’ll need to gather resources to get it.
It could be money, expertise, time, knowledge, manpower, or a strategic plan.
Set your idea and make your plan, then gather the necessary resources you need.
4. Start with Small Steps
You don’t have to leap tall buildings in a single bound to be successful.
Don’t wait for the perfect moment, it will never come. You have to start now.
At first, keep it simple. Start with small, early-stage steps for whatever you want to accomplish.
Once you’ve done one step, focus on the next and the next until you arrive.
5. Set Progress Metrics
How will you know you’re making progress towards your outcome if you haven’t set any progress metrics?
Progress metrics don’t have to be complexed, mathematical equations.
They should be simple and clearly articulated.
For example, when I was building this site one of my progress metrics was monthly traffic.
If saving money is your goal, your progress metric could be reaching $10,000.
You have your goal, your plan, and you’ve started taking small steps forward.
Now you have your progress metrics to guide you like a compass, from where you are now to where you want to be.
6. Use Momentum
When your small action steps begin to add up you now have momentum.
Preserve your momentum at all costs. It takes hard work, time, and effort to gain momentum.
But that momentum can be easily lost if you don’t stay consistent.
You need to keep moving, growing, learning, and taking action in order to get what you want.
7. Schedule Your Day in Advance
Half of all success is being organized and doing what matters when it needs to be done to the exclusion of everything else.
When you have a blueprint for your day you get more done, save time and energy, and make clear and consistent progress towards your goals.
Each night ask yourself “what are the three most important things I have to get done tomorrow?”
Important in this sense doesn’t mean paying a bill or meeting a friend for lunch.
Don’t wait for the perfect moment. It will never come.
You have to take action despite the moment being imperfect.
8. Check Your Habits
Your habitual thoughts and actions determine the direction of your life.
What are your habitual thoughts and behaviors?
Do they move you closer to the success you want or are they keeping you from it?
Be brutally honest with yourself. Our most dangerous enemy is ourselves.
Opportunity is right in front of you.
But we burn our bridge by having poor habits that don’t allow us to recognise an opportunity when it's there.
9. Cultivate a Champion Mindset
A champion mindset means you’re growth-oriented, you believe in your ability to succeed, and you’re willing to put in the necessary work to make it happen.
You can cultivate a champion mindset by gaining new knowledge, overriding negative self-talk, and setting goals that allow you to be more than you are.
10. Relax and Let it Flow
At first, this sounds like a contradiction.
Don’t wait for the perfect moment, take action now, but at the same time relax and let it flow.
What do I mean?
Yes, you need to go out and create your own opportunity.
You do that by being the best version of yourself you can be and knowing what you want and how you intend to get it.
But success isn’t linear.
Things rarely work out as originally planned, and you have to be flexible and move with current events.
Once you’ve put in your best, you can’t control the outcome.
When things don’t work out as expected use that as a springboard to find a better way and keep moving forward.
Stay relaxed and measured while continually focusing on your outcome and taking action towards it.
By implementing these 10 golden rules of success you don’t have to wait for the perfect moment.
You can create your own, starting now.
