1. Decide What a Great Day Looks Like
So what does a great day look like for you?
What would be your ideal start to the day?
Breakfast with your family?

What activities and contributions would cause you to say at the end of your day “today was a good day”?
2. Get a Nice Deep Sleep
Quality sleep is critical. You need it to keep your biological machine switched on and fine tuned.
Better health, lower stress and increased mental focus are all benefits of good sleep.
Your body goes through 4 levels of sleep.
The first 3 levels are non-REM (rapid eye movement) sleep. The fourth level is REM.
Level 1 (NREM)
· light sleep
· easily awoken
· muscle and brain wave activity beginning to slow
· prone to mild muscle spasms
Level 2 (NREM)
· not as easy to be woken or aroused
· brain waves continue to slow
· heart rate begins to slow
Level 3 (NREM)
· known as deep NREM
· Restorative to mind and body
· Difficult to awaken someone in level 3 sleep
Level 4 (REM)
· Known as the dreaming sleep
· Brainwaves more active than levels 2 & 3
· Can wake feeling foggy or over tired after a level 4 sleep
Your body likes routine. Try to get up the same time each morning and go to bed at a similar time at night.
Some people are night owls. Others thrive on only 4 hours of sleep. There’s no one size fits all.
